This the song that started my return to music making. My son (4 yrs old at the time) sang this melody after hearing his father sing it many times. It made me realize I had some catchy tunes to share with the world. The chorus came to me in a dream/spiritual experience several years ago. I did my best to interpret its meaning in the verse lyrics.
lyrics
I can barely see you
As I look through my mind's eye.
You're fading out of view.
If I lose you I will die.
I'm reaching higher spheres.
The light beams down from above.
I'm holding back my tears.
Now all I hear is ....
"Love can come from anywhere
Can go to anywhere
That's what love is for."
I'm flying higher
To the doorway of my soul
Releasing my desire
I can finally let go
I'm the one you're seeking.
Just open up your eyes.
I've been with you all along.
Can you see through my disguise?
"Love can come from anywhere
Can go to anywhere
That's what love is for (2x)."
(Instrumental bridge)
From a laughing playground
To a newborn baby's cries.
Love is all around.
It should come as no surprise.
From a grassy meadow
To the stars that shine at night.
(Note: accidentally flipped with previous line)
Everywhere there's love
And it's burning very bright
"Love can come from anywhere
Can go to anywhere
That's what love is for (2x)."
